I'm bringing my black Golf over from the UK next month and I'm already panicking about the sun and sand. Back home I never bothered with any protection but everyone here keeps telling me the paint will bake and chip within a year if I don't do something. I've got quotes for ceramic coating and for PPF and the PPF ones are nearly triple, which made me pause. I was reading https://paintprotectionfilm.ae/car-ppf-installation-in-dubai-guide/ last night and the part about film healing and yellowing in extreme heat was useful, but I'm still not sure if I should get it done before shipping or wait until the car arrives and find a shop locally. Also does PPF actually help with resale here or do buyers not care? Would love to hear from anyone who has shipped a car in and what you did.
