You spawn into Buried City expecting a quick warehouse sweep, then spend five minutes searching empty rooms while the real lead sits outside in the sand. That's the trap in Arc Raiders' Marked for Death: Tian Wen's cache is an environmental investigation, not a loot run, and bringing the right ARC Raiders Items can help you stay focused when nearby fights turn the Outskirts into a mess. The quest is short, but its visual clues are subtle enough to punish anyone playing on autopilot.

The cache is outside, not in the warehouse

Head to Su Durante Warehouses in the northern Outskirts of Buried City, then resist the urge to push through the main entrance. Tian Wen's cache is along the west-facing exterior wall, tucked near debris rather than displayed like premium loot. From what I've seen, players lose more time checking interior rooms than they do dealing with ARC patrols. Hug the exterior, slow your movement near the western side, and sweep your camera across the ground until the investigation prompt appears.

Mark Su Durante Warehouses before leaving Speranza.
Approach from outside and find the west wall first.
Check small containers and wreckage close to the wall.
Interact before moving toward the trees.

Read the ground after opening it

The cache only starts the real trail. Once you inspect it, turn west and look down instead of sprinting toward the next distant structure. You're following faint signs through pale sand: footprints, a strip of colored material, and scattered damage that points toward trees. Keep a landmark in view, because full-speed movement makes those tiny details blur together. The final interaction is a small metal wreckage piece partly buried near the trees, and the prompt can be picky depending on which side you approach from.

Do this, not that

Marked for Death rewards patience far more than a heavy DPS build. The comparison below covers the choices that make this objective drag versus the choices that keep it clean. It's not a difficult quest mechanically, but it becomes risky when you circle the wrong structure and advertise your position for too long.

Why it works
Search warehouse interiors first
Check the west exterior wall
The cache is outside
Run after the cache update
Scan sand toward the trees
The trail is easy to pass
Leave after one missed prompt
Circle the metal wreckage closely

What I wish I knew before the first attempt

Don't treat the quest marker as your only source of information. Arc Raiders often asks you to read spaces, and Marked for Death is a compact lesson in that design. The trail is close enough that you shouldn't need a broad search pattern; widening your route usually means you've missed a clue behind you. And, if another squad is nearby, finish the cache and wreckage sequence before getting drawn into a fight. A clutch encounter may feel great, but it can erase the calm visual focus this investigation needs.

Rewards, extraction, and the clean finish

After investigating the buried metal object, the essential field work is done; you do not need to carry a special quest item out for the investigation itself to register. Return to Tian Wen in Speranza for the Shotgun Choke II and Angled Grip II, both useful additions for players refining a shotgun setup or seeking steadier weapon handling. Keep your quest run lean, save valuable ARC Raiders Materials for sale for later builds, and remember the route: west wall first, trees second, buried wreckage last.
